I think that it is amazing that drinking coffee can reduce the amount of breast cancer. Before, there was no cure for breast cancer, and then just by some swedish women, there is a way to reduce breast cancer. It is not a cure, but I am almost sure that scientists will figure out a cure for breast cancer, by using the discovery that coffee reduces breast cancer. I think the key is to find out what kind of coffee reduces breast cancer and to find out which ingredient in particular reduces the chance of breast cancer. Sooner or later, I know that there will be a cure for breast cancer.

Titanic Wreck will disappear in 20 years: Being eaten by a superbug

Newly found bacteria was found feasting on the titanic, which is why it will not be there in fifteen to twenty years. I think that it's kind of sad that a boat that has been around since 1912 won't be there. Considering the fact that almost everyone knows the story of the titanic and scientists are just letting it be eaten. I wonder if the scientists that discovered it, do they care at all that it will be gone? If the do, is there some way to stop it that they are willing to try?  Are scientists just going to sit around while bacteria eats the titanic? I think that scientists should try to get rid of this bacteria. They could also learn something new about this iron-eating bacteria.

New DNA Test Shows Hair Color of Crooks

I think that it is very intresting that your spit or blood can tell what color your hair is. Considering the fact that your spit and blood do not at all have a connection with your hair and that you can take one of those samples and test it, the fact that it can show your age, eye color and hair color is very strange. This can help catch a murderer, thief, or another suspect of a crime scene. Just the fact that you can have some DNA of a criminal and scan it you can find out their age, eye color, and hair color and if you already have their name it will help police catch wanted criminals much more efficiently.

The True Candy Cane Story

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

A candy maker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would be a witness for Jesus, so he made the Christmas Candy Cane. He incorporated several symbols for the birth, ministry and death of Jesus Christ. He began with a stick of pure white hard candy. White to symbolize the Virgin Birth and sinless nature of Jesus. The hardness of the candy was used to to symbolize the Solid Rock, the Foundation of the Church and firmness of the promises of God. The candy maker made this candy in the form of a "J" to represent the precious name of Jesus, who came to earth as our Savior. It also represents the staff of the "Good Shepherd" with which he reaches down into the ditches of the world to lift out the fallen lambs, who like all sheep have gone astray. Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain, the candy maker stained it with red stripes. He used three small stripes to show the flogging Jesus received by which we are healed. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ at the cross so we could have the promise of eternal life. Unfortunately, the candy became known as a candy cane - a meaningless decoration seen at Christmas time.  However, the meaning is still there for those who "have eyes to see and ears to hear." I pray that this symbol with again be used to witness to the wonder of Jesus and His great love that came down at Christmas and remains the ultimate and dominate force in the universe today.

Science Extra Credit: How the Sea Of Monsters relates to Ecology

 In the Sea of Monsters the book I have read, I learned that nature plays an important role on earth.  The Sea of Monsters is about a young satyr who goes on an adventure to find Pan, the god of nature. In a later book Pan fades because his realm on earth is gone, and all hope is lost. When we cut down forests, and pollute the air, it affects nature, which will eventually affect us. When we start cause global warming, the polar bears die first, then we die after them.

Not only does nature give us the oxygen that we need to survive, but also it gives the animals a habitat. For example, New Jersey has an overpopulation of dear, so if the state of New Jersey cut down all the forests, we would have dear running all over the place and in the streets etc. this would increase the number of car crashes each year, which would increase our death rate.
